Deals with the diplomatic policy of Quinta Velha
His Majesty, The King of Quinta Velha, in the uses of his attributions, seeking to re-establish the criteria for the diplomatic relations of the Kingdom, decides:
As of this date, the Kingdom of Quinta Velha will no longer sign recognition treaties with other micronations or issue a decree for this purpose.
We understand that tacit recognition - that expressed via document with legal force and support - has become a tool for legitimizing ephemeral micronations or those of dubious quality and purposes.
In addition, we also consider that the granting or not of tacit recognition will not make a micronational state exist or cease to exist, since the principle of the declaratory state weighs on micronational projects.
Therefore, the criteria for micronational recognition of Quinta Velha's foreign policy will be adapted to meet, now, our interests and needs in international relations with other micronational agents. We reiterate, however, that this does not change our view of what is - or is not - considered a micronation, and we will continue to have very clear criteria regarding this topic.
This decree comes into force from the date of its publication.
